Atunsa Orders 2 New Seiners With Spanish Shipyard ff

The Spanish shipyard Astilleros Ria de Avilés, S. L. has over 40 years of history, however, for the past several years it was devoted mainly to the maintenance and repair of vessels afloat or in dry-dock, as well as to the renewal of certificates.

Times are changing; the Spanish shipyard has managed to reel in an order for the construction of two auxiliary fishing vessels for the also Spanish company Atunsa, S. A., of Bermeo.

The ships contracted by the fishing company Atunsa will have a length of 40 meters and an 8.1 meter-width, with capacity to carry a crew of 16. The boats will have a gross tonnage of 1,749 tons.

Astilleros Ria de Aviles is now the third Spanish shipyard, despite the current crisis, has managed to obtain contracts for construction of new seiners. The company has its facilities in San Juan de Nieva.
