INPESCA Receives New Itsas Txori Super Seinerff

Astilleros de Murueta, S.A. (Murueta Shipyards) has confirmed the completion and delivery of “Itsas Txori”, a tuna super seiner built for the Spanish fishing company, INPESCA. 



The Shipyard’s Managing Director, Mr. Agustin Ortiz de Eribe and Vice-president Mr. Juan Arana, delivered the vessel to INPESCA’s CEO Mr. Guillermo Arrien. “Itsas Txori” is 95.80 meters in length and has fish storage capacity of 2,250m³. The crew for the ship will total 35 people.

The vessel was launched in May, and has been completed afloat until the delivery to its Spanish owner. This is the fourth vessel built by Murueta for INPESCA.

INPESCA’s main activity is the capture, freezing and commercialization of tuna species. Tuna is fished using the purse seine fishing method and operations are carried out in the tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean. Around 70 percent of INPESCA’s production is exported to international markets.
