Hermasa Installs More Of World Fastest Canning Machinesff

24 May 2005 Spain

Once again, Hermasa is experiencing a good year, and mainly regarding the sales of its TUNIPACK® tuna canning equipment.

The second unit of the Tunipack®-500 (currently the fastest tuna canning machine on the market) has successfully been installed in Bumble Bee Santa Fe Spring. The first unit was already installed and operating for over a year in the Escuris factory (Jealsa Rianxeira Group).

In addition, the number of tuna canning machines model Tunipack®-300 and the Tunipack®-gf model (format 603) continue to increase every year.

Hermasa’s sales are consolidating in Latin America (for example Conservas Victoria and Avecaisa in Venezuela), Middle East (Behshidan Food Processing Company in Iran), North Africa (Exprom and Societe Cap - Carthage in Tunisia, SARL HAAL in Algeria) and Asia (Chotiwat Manufacturing Company and Golden Prize in Thailand, Dongwon and Sajo Industries in Korea, and Permex in the Philippines.

At present there are already over 70 machines installed all around the world, since the first unit was sold in April 2001. This constitutes a very important commercial and technical effort which involves the whole company.

It is also essential to emphasize that several factories are using TUNIPACK® equipment for the production of tuna salads in an aluminum format Bowl (Ø 100 mm.), easy peal. One of the major challenges for Hermasa was to produce a tablet weighing approximately 45 gr. (about 8 mm thick) and achieve a continued solid pack structure even after adding to the vegetables and liquids.  The result of this product in the machine has been fantastic, and proof of it is that companies such as Escuris (Spain) and Capitaine Cook (France) are already producing their salads with this equipment.
