Van Camp’s Lithographed “Colombia Made” Cans Are Head Turners
Iconic Colombian tuna brand Van Camp’s is marketing its products uniquely and creatively wherein two hands are lithographed in bright green on the lids of cans with the term “Hecho por Manos Colombianas.” However, only selected cans feature this. The company points out that it is symbolic of the “expert hands of Cartagena women who bring the quality of Van Camp’s tuna to the consumer’s table.” A video shared on the company’s Facebook shows women cleaning tuna, under hygienic conditions, inside the Van Camp’s factory to claim its statement. The company, which is active on social media, uses quirky designs and a splash of colors on its packaging to attract its young consumers. Some can lids have tuna lithographed on them.
Van Camp’s, owned by SeaTech International, is one of the leading tuna brands in Colombia. It sells over ten different tuna products such as cans, loins, fillets, belly fillets, and salads. It is also sold in Ecuador under the same name.
