Japan-based Organization for the Promotion of Responsible Tuna Fisheries (OPRT) wants to ensure that the younger generation has knowledge about choosing good sushi and sashimi. OPRT’s engaging video “Summary of Tuna Points – Sushi and Sashimi Fish Species Edition,” explains in detail the four species that can be used for these dishes – yellowfin, bigeye, albacore, and bluefin. The main fishing regions from where they are caught are also detailed. The video was released in November.

“We will introduce each species very briefly. We hope that it will be of some help when choosing sushi and sashimi toppings,” the organization said in its latest newsletter. OPRT also stated that it would release videos in the coming days explaining the health benefits of tuna. OPRT aims to promote sustainable tuna fishing practices and ensure that the fish is caught responsibly. An OPRT label signifies a commitment to environmentally conscious tuna sourcing. The video, which is in Japanese, can be viewed here.
