Recalls Of Kirkland Signature Tuna Poke Over Contamination Of One Ingredient

23 September 2025

The Western United Fish Company dba Annasea Foods Group recalled Kirkland Signature Brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke on September 20. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the action was taken because the green onions used in the products “have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes”. The products were sold at the deli section of Costco stores in 33 states, including Washington and New York.

The FDA statement read that the company is “recalling 3,314.7 lbs [1,503 kg] of Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke, Costco Item Number 17193.” The agency pointed out the large volumes of tuna that would be thrown away due to the action. The affected items are packaged in clear plastic clamshell containers with a net weight of 1.00 lb [0.45 kg] each, with the “Pack Date of 9/18/2025 and Sell By Date of 9/22/2025.” Buyers who purchased the product were asked to dispose of it immediately or visit the local Costco for a full refund.
