INFOFISH Names Industry Experts To Chair World Tuna 2026

The countdown to the 19th INFOFISH World Tuna Trade Conference and Exhibition in Bangkok has begun, and the organizers announced the Chairperson and Co-Chair for the much-anticipated event.
Susan Jackson, President of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF), will chair the event, and Adisorn Promthep, Advisor to the Thai Tuna Industry Association (TTIA), will take the role of Co-Chair. They will “reinforce TUNA 2026’s position as the premier global platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation across the tuna value chain,” read the INFOFISH statement.
Jackson said: “TUNA 2026 provides an important forum to examine emerging challenges and identify practical solutions that strengthen the resilience and sustainability of tuna value chains worldwide.”
Promthep explained that it “will be an opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange experience, strengthen partnerships, and explore practical solutions that will help shape a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future for our industry.”
Some of the topics to be discussed at TUNA 2026 include the EU rules of origin, IUU compliance, the EU-Thailand free trade negotiations, and industry standards and compliance with non traditional trade requirements. During the three-days conference, there will be discussions about the future of sustainable tuna, strengthening industry-RFMO collaboration, climate impacts and fishing operations, pricing volatility and future competitiveness, digital traceability and transparency, sustainable raw material supply and sourcing challenges, and the East New Britain Initiative.
The conference and exhibition will be held from September 14 to 16, 2026, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, under the theme, ‘Strengthening Value Chain Synergies, Blue Economies and Sustainability across the Global Tuna Industry.’ In May, Atuna reported that registrations for the event are open. The conference is expected to attract over 500 international delegates, feature over 40 speakers, and host over 44 exhibitors representing the global tuna industry.
