INFOFISH Announces Speakers For World Tuna 2026

The organizer of the World Tuna Trade Conference in Bangkok has started revealing the names of the speakers who will contribute to the three-day event starting on September 14. INFOFISH expects to welcome over 500 international participants and over 40 exhibitors.

It has announced that there will be more than 40 world-class speakers contributing their expertise to the program in eight sessions spread over three days around the central theme: “Strengthening Value Chain Synergies, Blue Economies and Sustainability across the Global Tuna Industry”.

The event website highlights Chair Susan Jackson (President of ISSF) and Co-Chair Adisorn Promthep (Advisor to TTIA), who were announced a few weeks ago. The list of speakers on the website is updated every day, and they are introduced on INFOFISH’s social media channels.

Several experts have already been announced. The General Manager of Biolan, Antonio Bustamante, will explore the changes in the canned tuna industry due to digitalization and how that supports a more sustainable future for the tuna industry.

Satlink’s COO, Pedro Vigil, will highlight the impact of digital tools on the industry’s future: how digital tools can improve operational efficiency in fisheries and reduce environmental impacts. Director of Sustainable Fisheries at Marine Instruments, Jorge Perez-Bouzada, will delve into sustainable fishing technologies the company has developed.

Ibrahim Athif Shakoor, Strategic Consultant at MIFCO, will take the audience through the Maldives’ centuries-old fishing heritage, which continues to set a global benchmark for sustainability and responsible tuna fisheries.
