Inpesca Seiner Reflagged To Oman

Spanish tuna fishing company Inpesca’s seiner ‘Txori Bi’ will fly the Omani flag here on, and will continue to be owned by the company. The seiner will fish in the Indian Ocean along with sister vessel, Inpesca-owned ‘Txori Berri’, which was reflagged to Oman a few years back, reported Faro de Vigo. The IOTC vessel registry shows that both the seiners are operated by Oman-based Tuna Development SPC.

According to the Inpesca website, ‘Txori Bi’ is a 32.65-meter-long seiner, which was built in the year 2004 and has been operating under the Spanish flag. It was a part of Inpesca’s Spanish seiner fleet comprising five vessels. ‘Txori Bi’ is currently not listed in the IOTC. Atuna reported earlier this week that Inpesca closed its last financial year, 2024, with a turnover of over EUR 68 million, and its purse seiners operate in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.
