07 August 2024

The International Pole and Line Foundation (IPNLF) has announced strategic partnerships with three new members, Archipelagics Inc., Ainan Coop, and Samaki Bluu, who have committed to sustainable fishing and sourcing from artisanal fisheries. Archipelagics Inc. has over two decades of selling hand-packed premium tuna and other seafood products. The company sources directly from Indonesian handline artisanal fishers and sells products such as Tuna Poke. The company has vertically integrated US marketing operations. Ainan Coop is based in the south of Japan trading fresh and frozen skipjack and other seafood. It is committed to preserving traditional fishing methods and promoting responsible sourcing. The company’s General Manager said that “skipjack tuna landed at the Ainan Fisheries Cooperative is subject to traceability and is caught using sustainable fishing methods.” Tanzania-based Samaki Bluu works with traditional fishers from Pemba Island who catch yellowfin, dorado, and other seafood. It delivers fresh high-grade quality fish across Africa.
