US Seafood Brand Adds Smoked Yellowfin To Its Product Line

31 July 2024

North American seafood company Ocean Beauty Seafoods, which mainly sells salmon and sablefish under the ‘Echo Falls’ brand, has introduced a new item: oakwood smoked yellowfin. The fish is cured with salt and beetroot, and rimmed with black and white sesame seeds before smoking over oak. “The result is a gorgeous, bright red color and a rich, silky texture that contrasts perfectly with the crunchy sesame seeds,” reported food business news sites. The product, made from Vietnam caught yellowfin, is packed in 3-ounce (85 g) pouch and will be launched later this year to the market.

A top executive from the seafood company said that smoked seafood has always been a core part of its business. “It was a natural decision to provide customers with a distinctive but approachable smoked tuna product prepared under our traditional method.” Ocean Beauty Seafoods, currently owned by Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation, started operations in 1910. It has seven distribution locations across the US, and two processing and smoking plants in Washington.
