Dongwon Celebrates Thanksgiving Spirit By Launching Tuna Gift Sets

Dongwon F&B announced that it has introduced 100 types of ‘Dongwon Gift Sets’ ahead of the Korean Thanksgiving Day (Chuseok) in September, one of the most celebrated festivals in the country. The company is marketing the items as healthy, practical and eco-friendly. Traditionally, the sets also contain canned tuna items which is rich in protein. Considering market inflation, the sets will be sold at affordable prices between KRW 10,000 (USD 7.50) to KRW 40,000 (USD 29.90).

The Korean tuna giant claimed to have used recycled plastic and 100 percent paper for its packaging. “There are also unique gift sets such as the ‘Dongwon Tasty Cham Set’, a new concept in canned tuna that can be eaten directly with rice without cooking, and the ‘Mega Tuna Gift Set’, which contains 14 cans of Dongwon tuna lean meat (90g) in a giant round tin case,” reported Korean news sites. The company is celebrating the 40th year of launching its ‘Gift Sets,’ one of its most popular items that are introduced annually for the Korean new year and other auspicious festivals. Dongwon claimed that it has sold over 300,000 units of the gift set since its launch.
