Hundreds Of Rio Mare Cans Strewn On Italian Highway

Hundreds of tuna cans fell from a truck last Tuesday, severely disrupting traffic during evening hours on a busy highway in Genoa, Italy. According to the police, the accident was caused by the driver losing control of the truck, likely due to an obstacle on the road. Nobody was injured in the incident. Italian news sites showed images of numerous of Rio Mare cans scattered on the road. The police and firefighters who were present at the scene cleared them all.
A similar incident happened last month on the Autostrada del Mediterraneo, a major highway in southern Italy. A trailer carrying Saupiquet tuna cans overturned, with the driver getting trapped inside his vehicle for a few hours.
